Dominic Hyungyun Choung is a versatile double bass and electric bass player from South Korea, currently based in Maastricht, Netherlands. Known for his strong sense of rhythm and poetic musical choices, he performs across a wide range of genres, from jazz to pop, funk, and beyond. His musical approach is deeply rooted in both performance and education, with a passion for sharing his knowledge of bass, theory, and culture.

He regularly performs live and records in the studio, showcasing his adaptability and deep musicality. As a dedicated educator, he teaches not only bass techniques but also the broader context of music and culture through his own textbook.

He holds a Bachelor's degree from Maastricht Conservatory, where he studied under Matthias Akeo Nowak and John Goldsby, Alexander Borner and is currently pursuing a Master's degree with Doug Weiss.

With a unique blend of technical skill, musical insight, and cultural understanding, he continues to inspire and connect with audiences and students alike, sharing his passion for music wherever he performs.
